Kheng Hua Tan, known for her role in Crazy Rich Asians, and Kazuya Tanabe from "Tokyo Vice" will lead the voice cast for the animated feature "The Violinist".

The film is set in Colonial Singapore during the turmoil of WW2.

France TV Distribution has boarded the project and plans to launch sales at the upcoming Cannes film market.

The voice ensemble also includes Adrian Pang, Ayden Sng, and Fang Rong.

"The Violinist" is scored by Singaporean-American composer Ricky Ho.

Ervin Han and Raul Garcia direct the animated feature.

Han also penned the script with Jordan K. See.

The story begins in 1930s British-colonial Singapore and follows young Fei and an orphan boy, Kai, who aspire to become world-class violinists.

Their dreams face interruption when war arrives in Southeast Asia in 1941. Kai joins resistance efforts and disappears after the war.

Fei dedicates herself to becoming a soloist, refusing to accept his loss.
