TBS show "Nichiyobi no Hatsumimigaku" issued an apology May 4 concerning content broadcast on February 9 regarding program broadcast.

The apology addressed the program's portrayal of a scene from the popular drama series "Beautiful Life." The show had presented a specific conversation scene from the drama's second episode, involving characters Shuji and Kyoko, as if it were improvised by the actors.

The program's statement confirmed the scene was performed exactly as written in the script. It attributed the error to the production staff's failure to verify factual details. The apology was extended to the drama's production team, who created the work, and to the program's viewers regarding broadcast content.

The February 9 episode had featured actress Takako Tokiwa. The program discussed her acting career, highlighting roles in various dramas including "Beautiful Life," where the misrepresented scene appeared.

Scriptwriter Eriko Kitagawa, who wrote "Beautiful Life" and other dramas, error pointed out the factual error on her X account shortly after the February broadcast.

Kitagawa stated the scene presented as improv was specifically written into the drama's script. She stressed the detailed process involved in creating a script and the commitment required from actors to perform the text accurately.

She questioned whether the program's staff had reviewed the script before broadcasting the segment. Kitagawa stated, "Presenting something that is in the script as if it were casual improv is unacceptable."
