Director Paul Feig addressed public reaction surrounding actress Blake Lively, including her ongoing legal dispute with costar Justin Baldoni. Feig defended Lively's professionalism and collaborative approach while filming the recently released film, "Another Simple Favor."

Feig commented on rumors of a feud between Lively and her "Another Simple Favor" costar Anna Kendrick, dismissing them as misconceptions about how movies are made. He stated that stars are typically involved in the creative process.

Beyond set rumors, Lively remains in headlines due to a legal battle related to the film "It Ends With Us." This dispute involves Baldoni, who is both her costar and a director on the project.

Last year, Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department before filing a lawsuit against Baldoni and his studio, Wayfarer. She alleged sexual harassment on set and claimed Baldoni orchestrated a smear campaign against her following the complaint.

Baldoni subsequently filed his own lawsuit against Lively and her husband. His suit includes allegations of defamation, civil extortion, and breach of contract.

Feig had publicly supported Lively when her initial complaint became known. He reiterated his support and expressed frustration with the heated commentary on social media regarding the situation.

Speaking about public reactions, Feig criticized what he sees as excessive outrage directed at commonplace issues. He suggested people should focus anger on more meaningful causes.

Feig had previously worked with Lively on the 2018 film "A Simple Favor" and the sequel. He described her as professional, creative, collaborative, talented, and kind based on his experiences.

He stated that Lively did not deserve the alleged smear campaign against her and found it "awful she was put through this."

"I've now made two movies with Blake, and all I can say is she's one of the most professional, creative, collaborative, talented, and kind people I've ever worked with," Feig stated.
