World No. 4 Coco Gauff will debut a unique collaboration with her sponsor New Balance and Italian designer label Miu Miu this spring and summer. The capsule collection brings high fashion aesthetics to both her on- and off-court attire.
The 2023 US Open champion first debuted a new capsule collection with the brands earlier this week. It is part of an ongoing partnership between New Balance and the Prada-founded fashion house. Gauff previously wore Miu Miu off-court, including custom gowns at the Oscars last month and for her April 2024 Vogue cover shoot.
The focus now shifts to tennis performance and street style. Gauff will wear three distinct looks at upcoming Hologic WTA Tour events. Each features match kits with colorways inspired by the tournament locations.
First up is the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, where she will wear navy and white with red accents on the clay courts. Later, she will switch to green and white with sky blue hints for the grass courts in Berlin in June. In August, for the tournament she won two years ago in Cincinnati, she will wear royal blue mixed with more red accents.
Completing each look are matching silk zip-front hoodies and track pants. Gauff will wear custom, co-branded versions of her signature shoe, the Coco CG2. New Balance and Miu Miu reimagined the design for the collection. She will also wear a casual version of the Miu Miu x New Balance 530 SL sneaker off the court.
The collaboration marks a notable moment in the intersection of sport and fashion. It is the first time an Italian-founded luxury fashion label will be officially worn in play at a WTA event. Other players have shown high fashion connections, such as Jannik Sinner carrying Gucci bags onto court, but not wearing the brand during play.
Gauff consulted on the collection's development. She has been with New Balance since 2018.
The complete New Balance x Miu Miu with Coco Gauff collection will be available to shop online and in select Miu Miu stores starting September 10. It will be available for a limited time shortly after the US Open concludes. Gauff will be a guest of honor at a Miu Miu Select event in New York City on the release day.
In an interview about the launch, Gauff discussed her approach to the design. "I showed them what silhouettes I like, and we worked around that as a starting point," Gauff revealed exclusively to Vogue. "We were, like, What can we do in tennis that has either never been done or been done very few times?"
She also reflected on the nature of the partnership. "This feels really natural," she says. "I think it was meant to be."
