The Lehigh Valley Phantoms defeated the Hershey Bears 3-1 in Game 2 of their playoff series, evening the matchup at one game apiece.

Phantoms forward Zayde Wisdom scored two shorthanded goals during the contest.

The Phantoms bounced back after losing the series opener. They secured the Game 2 win Friday night.

Despite giving up one power play goal, the Phantoms outscored the Bears while playing a man down. Wisdom's goals came on breakout plays that sent him down the ice.

Phantoms head coach Ian Laperriere praised Wisdom after the game. He stated Wisdom had played well all year.

"He's a kid who came to our camp and told me this summer 'I'll come to camp and make your team and you won't be able to take me out.' A lot of guys are telling me that, but not too many guys walk the walk," Laperriere said about Wisdom's commitment.

Laperriere added that Wisdom has become a leader on the team. He noted Wisdom brings a balanced and engaged game that elevates the play of his linemates.

The Game 2 victory tied the A1-Hershey Bears vs. A5-Lehigh Valley Phantoms series Series tied, 1-1.

The Phantoms Hockey team and the Bears are scheduled to play Game 3 Sunday.

Wisdom has worked to rebuild his game at the American Hockey League level and has become an integral part of the offense.

He is in a positive spot with his game and is stepping up when needed most.

"He's been walking the walk and he's one of our leaders in that room and I couldn't be happier, he's just a great kid," Laperriere said.
