Moving to the 3A classification, J.H. Rose earned the top seed in the East Region, while East Rowan sits atop the West. Southern Alamance faces a challenging path in the 3A East, potentially meeting last year's state runner-up South Central in later rounds. Oak Grove was mentioned as a potential dark horse in the 3A West.

The 2A brackets see West Bladen as the No. 1 seed in the East and East Rutherford as the top seed in the West. Whiteville and Burns are among the contenders in their respective regions. SouthWest Edgecombe hosts Holmes in a notable first round game in the East, while R-S Central welcomes East Burke in the West. Midway was picked as a dark horse in the 2A East.

In the smallest classification, Voyager Academy holds the top seed in the 1A East, and Cherryville is the No. 1 seed in the 1A West. Uwharrie Charter, winners of the past two state championships, is the No. 5 seed in the 1A West but has yet to lose to a 1A opponent this season. Bear Grass Charter faces a challenging path in the 1A East. Tarboro is seen as a potential dark horse in the 1A East.

Four teams from Robeson County earned berths in the postseason field: Lumberton and Purnell Swett in 4A East, and Fairmont and St. Pauls in 2A East. 4 Robeson baseball teams earn playoff bids as at-large selections and will travel for their opening games.

Predictions shared ahead of the tournament include D.H. Conley defeating T.C. Roberson for the 4A state title, Terry Sanford overcoming East Rowan in 3A, Burns besting Whiteville in 2A, and Uwharrie Charter securing a third straight championship against Bear Grass Charter in 1A.
