The unique team competition of the PGA Tour continued through the weekend at TPC Louisiana, where the ZURICH CLASSIC 2025 saw unexpected leaders pull away from a field featuring golf's biggest names. The tournament, played in a distinct ZURICH CLASSIC FORMAT, pits two-player teams against each other over four rounds.

Following the second round, PGA Tour rookies Isaiah Salinda and Kevin Velo sat atop the ZURICH CLASSIC LEADERBOARD. They posted a tournament-record 58 in the opening round's Four-Ball format and followed with a 69 in Friday's Foursomes to reach 17-under.

Danish twin brothers Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard were one shot behind the leading pair heading into Saturday's play.

Defending champions Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry face a six-shot deficit as they attempt to repeat their 2024 victory. The Irish duo finished the second round tied for 16th place at 11-under par after a Friday score of 69.

The ZURICH CLASSIC FORMAT alternates between Four-Ball (best ball) in rounds one and three, and Foursomes (alternate shot) in rounds two and four. This structure rewards teams capable of performing well in both scoring formats.

Moving into Saturday, the third round features Four-Ball play, expected to yield lower scores across the field at TPC Louisiana.

Coverage of the weekend rounds is available on television and via streaming platforms. Golf Channel provided early coverage Saturday afternoon, followed by CBS for the later portion.

Exclusive online coverage is accessible via PGA Tour Live on ESPN+ starting in the morning each day. Sunday's final round will follow a similar television and streaming schedule.

McIlroy, playing for the first time since his Masters victory, commented on the crowd support earlier in the week.

"It was brilliant to see so many people out there on a Tuesday morning," McIlroy said. "It's always nice to play in front of a supportive, enthusiastic crowed, and looking forward to doing more of that over the next few days."
