Cricket officials in PAKISTAN announced the rescheduling of a Pakistan Super League match Thursday following escalating tensions with INDIA. The decision came after a drone incident near the venue where the Karachi Kings were scheduled to play Peshawar Zalmi.

The league match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings at Rawalpindi Stadium was postponed. This followed a drone falling within the stadium complex area. Heavy rain in Rawalpindi was also a factor in the game's likely disruption.

The incident occurred amid a series of cross-border actions between PAKISTAN and INDIA. Reports indicated that drone activity followed PAKISTAN's attempts to engage military targets after INDIA conducted missile strikes earlier in the week. Those strikes were described as a response to a terror attack in Kashmir in April.

The PCB held an emergency meeting, including the chairman, with foreign players participating in the PSL. Concerns arose among international cricketers following the heightened situation.

"The PCB is reviewing the situation and will be rescheduling some of the PSL matches," the board said in a statement. It added that further updates would come as matters were finalized.

It remains unclear if the matches will move to different cities or if only the dates will change. Karachi Kings, a city also affected by recent drone activity, has been mentioned as a potential host city. Some foreign players reportedly favored moving remaining league play to Dubai.

Other cricket boards, including the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Cricket West Indies, confirmed they were in contact with their players in the league. They reported coordinating with authorities and the PCB to ensure player safety and facilitate departures.

The fixture between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings will have a new date announced later. Ticket holders for the postponed match can obtain refunds.
