Comcast Spectacor and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment announced Tuesday that the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia will change its name. The arena, home to the Philadelphia 76ers and Flyers, will be known as the Xfinity Mobile Arena.

The name change takes effect on September 1. Signage installation is scheduled to begin the following day, with additional branding and digital displays planned.

The naming rights agreement extends through the 2030-31 season. This marks the fifth name for the venue, which opened in 1996. It was previously called the CoreStates Center, the First Union Center, and the Wachovia Center.

The partnership includes official team agreements with both the Flyers and 76ers, featuring exterior signage and interior digital branding. Xfinity Mobile will also provide branded Wi-Fi throughout the arena. The announcement follows a $400 million renovation project that updated seating, concessions, technology, and sustainability systems at the facility. The venue hosts over 220 events annually.

The arena name change comes as a new venue is set to open by 2031. The Philadelphia 76ers ownership group and Comcast Spectacor had previously announced plans to build a new arena in South Philadelphia.

Dan Hilferty, chairman and CEO of Comcast Spectacor, commented on the new partnership.

"As we complete our historic relationship with Wells Fargo, we wanted to ensure that our new partner matched our enthusiasm for delivering world-class service to our fans and guests," Hilferty said Tuesday via news reports.
