A tornado warning had been issued for Northampton and Monroe counties in Pennsylvania as severe thunderstorms moved through the area.
Earlier in the day, a First Alert was issued for Pennsylvania suburbs, Berks County, and the Lehigh Valley due to the severe weather threat. The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center indicated a Level 2 severe weather risk for the impacted neighborhoods.
Conditions Tuesday were favorable for the development of strong storms, with afternoon heating contributing to atmospheric instability. Heavy downpours, hail, and frequent lightning were also possibilities with the thunderstorm activity.
A severe thunderstorm watch remained in effect for all eastern Pennsylvania counties and Mercer County, New Jersey, until 8 p.m.
