Twitch began testing a new feature May 8 called the Treasure Train, which offers users discounts on gifted subscription bundles. The feature is a variant of the platform's established Hype Train event.
When a Treasure Train reaches Level 5 activity, it provides a 35% discount on bundles of five or more Tier 1 gift subscriptions. Twitch clarified the feature Twitch is experimental.
Treasure Trains cannot be combined with other promotional offers. They will occasionally replace the standard Hype Train event, potentially appearing at least once per hour. Twitch also stated that creators can opt out of Treasure Trains through their Creator Dashboard settings. The platform encourages creators and users to provide feedback as the experimental feature rolls out.
The introduction of Treasure Trains adds another avenue for users to support content creators on the platform, joining other existing methods.
Twitch serves as a primary online venue for many individuals, including public figures who maintain presences on the platform. AEW wrestler Adam Cole, who streams under the name Chugs, recently spoke about his engagement with the platform.
During a recent interview with "The Ringer Wrestling Show," Cole stated his Twitch streaming career is important to him. He noted he has completed over 1,000 live streams across five years and has accumulated over 145,000 followers, whom he views as a community.
Cole said he generally keeps his professional wrestling career and his Twitch streaming activities separate. His streams focus primarily on video games, and he has recently played titles such as "Stellar Blade," "Final Fantasy 6," and "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt."
He added that the community formed around his streams is the aspect he values most about his Twitch career.
