New sets highlighting Pokémon from the Unova region are scheduled for release in July and August 2025, bringing over 150 creatures to the trading card game. The expansion is split into two distinct sets, titled Scarlet & Violet—Black Bolt and Scarlet & Violet—White Flare.
The Pokemon TCG Black Bolt White Flare expansions aim to feature all 156 Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region. These sets will introduce new cards and illustrations for these Pokémon. The Black Bolt set highlights the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom, while the White Flare set features the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram.
Each set includes six Pokémon ex cards and eight ultra rare Pokémon and Supporter cards. An illustration rare or special illustration rare card exists for every Unova Pokémon in each set, alongside a special illustration rare Supporter card in each set. collectors can also pursue three different parallel foil sets, two featuring unique rainbow Poke Ball or Master Ball card treatments. The main release date for many products is July 18, 2025. Products available on this date include the Elite Trainer Box, Binder Collection, Unova Poster Collection, and Unova Mini Tin.
The Elite Trainer Box, available for both Scarlet & Violet—Black Bolt and Scarlet & Violet—White Flare, contains nine booster packs, a full-art foil promo card (Thundurus for Black Bolt, Tornadus for White Flare), card sleeves, Energy cards, and gameplay accessories. The Binder Collection for each set comes with five booster packs and a nine-pocket album displaying the featured Legendary Pokémon, Zekrom or Reshiram.
The Unova Poster Collection bundles two Black Bolt booster packs and two White Flare booster packs with three promo cards featuring Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott, plus a two-sided poster. The Unova Mini Tin includes one Black Bolt booster pack, one White Flare booster pack, an art card, and a matching sticker card.
Later releases include the Tech Sticker Collection and Victini Illustration Collection, both arriving August 1, 2025. The Tech Sticker Collection includes three booster packs, a promo card (Reuniclus or Gothitelle), and a sticker sheet. The Unova Victini Illustration Collection contains two Black Bolt packs, two White Flare packs, and multiple Victini promo cards, including an oversized foil version.
A Booster Bundle featuring six booster packs is scheduled for release on August 22, 2025. Details on the full product schedule are available through the Pokemon TCG 2025 Release Calendar. Pre-orders for these sets were recently offered at some retailers. Specific pre-order availability was reported for Pokemon TCG Scarlet & Violet White Flare/Black Bolt sets in Australia.
