Actress Anna Faris spoke recently about how parenting her son Jack has led her to confront personal fears. Faris shared that her 12-year-old son influences her willingness to try new experiences.
"I am really proud that I will go on any roller coaster or any water slide," Faris said in an interview, adding she has stepped out of her comfort zone numerous times for her son. She expressed pride in this, noting she loves that he can rely on her.
Faris shares her son, Jack, with her ex-husband Chris Pratt. She also has two stepchildren with her current husband, Michael Barrett.
Beyond overcoming fears of rides, Faris also addressed a different challenge: the loss of her home in the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. The property in Pacific Palisades was destroyed in January.
Faris described the experience as "still surreal," stating that remembering moments from the day of the fire feels like a "wince." She recounted leaving the house with Jack and walking past cherished items, feeling disbelief that the fire would reach them.
Related reports have detailed the impact of the wildfires, which destroyed numerous structures in the Los Angeles area. Faris acknowledged being "really bad in an emergency" based on her actions during the evacuation.
Despite the difficulty of losing sentimental possessions, Faris stated the situation has prompted gratitude. She mentioned feeling fortunate compared to others who lost homes in the same fires.
The family plans to rebuild their home. Faris noted that the children, including her son and stepchildren, are looking forward to the process.
"we're doing great," Faris said. "We are going to rebuild. The kids are really excited about that. I have two stepchildren with my husband and they're all really looking forward to that.”
