Gwyneth Paltrow attended a book signing event for author Maria Shriver in Summerland, California, Saturday. The event took place at Godmothers in the Santa Barbara area.
Ms. Paltrow was observed wearing black sandals that retained three large sticker labels on their soles during her appearance. She arrived alongside Sheryl Berkoff, wife of actor Rob Lowe.
Attendees at the I Am Maria event included Katherine Schwarzenegger, daughter of the former First Lady of California. Maria Shriver’s book, a collection of poems, recently became a New York Times Bestseller after its April 1 release.
Oprah Winfrey joined Ms. Shriver at Godmothers and moderated a question and answer session for the work.
Earlier that day, Gwyneth Paltrow shared a cooking video online. She demonstrated preparing a dish called aloo anday while using a Goop Beauty eye product.
Discussion regarding Ms. Paltrow's family members has also appeared recently. Her daughter, Apple Martin, will celebrate her 21st birthday next month. Apple is presently studying at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, focusing on law, history, and society.
Regarding her interest in law, Apple Martin told Interview last month, "The reason why I was originally like, 'Maybe I'll be a lawyer,' was because I loved acting. But I was insecure and nervous, so I was like, 'Oh my god, if I'm a lawyer, I can perform on the stage in a trial setting.' It's insane that I thought that. Also I cannot lie, I was like, 'I'll just be Elle Woods.' \Laughs It's a lot harder than it looks."
Ms. Paltrow’s son, Moses Martin, showcased his singing ability in a recent video. The 19-year-old is a freshman at Brown University. His father is Chris Martin, frontman for the band Coldplay. Ms. Paltrow and Chris Martin separated in 2013, describing the process as "consciously uncoupling."
In film news, Ms. Paltrow is set to appear in Josh Safdie's solo directorial debut Marty Supreme, scheduled for release December 25. She also has a cameo in Rachel Israel's independent comedy Miracle on 74th Street.
