Actors Barry Keoghan and Sabrina Carpenter both attended the 2025 Met Gala in New York City on Monday, but the former couple appeared to avoid interacting during the high-profile fashion event and its related after-parties.
Keoghan arrived wearing a custom Valentino ensemble. The outfit drew comparison to looks worn by musician Ringo Starr and evoked the aesthetic of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band era. Keoghan is set to portray Starr in upcoming Beatles biopics. On the red carpet, he was photographed socializing with singer Lorde and actor Joey King.
Carpenter arrived earlier, walking the red carpet solo in a burgundy Louis Vuitton bodysuit. Her look was part of a notable trend at the event that saw several stars opting to go without pants. Others seen in pantsless styles included Cynthia Erivo, Hailey Bieber, and Blackpink's Lisa. Sabrina Carpenter was also photographed with actors Jenna Ortega and Sadie Sink during the evening.
Later in the night, Carpenter attended an after-party hosted by A$AP Rocky’s Met Gala after-party, arriving with Jenna Ortega. Carpenter changed her outfit for the party, wearing a white top, black tie, black trousers, and a yellow Louis Vuitton coat.
News of Carpenter and Keoghan's breakup broke in early December 2024. A source told Entertainment Tonight at the time that "things didn't end well, and they are taking space from each other."
The pair had made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2024 Met Gala.
