The Omaha Supernovas, defending champions of the Pro Volleyball Federation, secured the top seed for the 2025 playoffs by finishing the regular season in first place. The team concluded their campaign with a 21-7 record, earning the best mark in the league's second edition.

As the top seed, the Omaha Supernovas will advance directly to the semifinals of the PVF Finals, which will take place in Las Vegas. They are scheduled to face the fourth-seeded Indy Ignite on Friday.

The Supernovas clinched the regular season title in the final week by winning one of their two matches. They accomplished this goal on Friday with a 3-1 victory over the Grand Rapids Rise on the road. The set scores were 19-25, 25-17, 25-20, and 25-21.

Outside hitter Brooke Nuneviller led the Supernovas in the clinching match, recording a team-high 20 points. She registered 18 kills, one block, and one ace. Fellow outside hitter Reagan Cooper also contributed to the offense with 16 points, including 15 kills and one block.

With the top seed confirmed, the Omaha Supernovas played their final regular season match on Sunday, defeating the second-seeded Atlanta Vibe 3-1. The set scores were 25-23, 25-22, 19-25, and 25-23.

The other semifinal match will feature the Atlanta Vibe against the third-seeded Orlando Valkyries. The winners of the semifinals will compete for the gold medal match on Sunday.

The final regular season standings placed the Omaha Supernovas first (21-7), followed by the Vibe (19-9), the Valkyries (18-10), and the Ignite (13-15). The Grand Rapids Rise (11-17) finished fifth, the San Diego Mojo (11-17) sixth, the Vegas Thrill (10-18) seventh, and the Columbus Fury (9-19) eighth.

Head coach Laura Kuhn commented on the team's performance heading into the playoffs.

"It was good for our group," Kuhn said. "We knew this road trip was going to be challenging and we were ready to make whatever adjustments we needed to. I’m proud of the way we responded."
