America coach Ángel Villacampa has only one league loss against Chivas since taking charge. His team enters the second leg with a streak of seven matches without defeat against Guadalajara across all phases of the tournament.

The most recent semifinal meeting prior to this one was in the Apertura 2023 tournament. The first leg ended 2-2, and America secured a 2-1 win in the second leg to advance to the final.
