Texas A&M defensive lineman Nic Scourton is projected to be an early selection as the NFL draft continues Friday with the second and third rounds in Green Bay.

Scourton, who transferred to Texas A&M from Purdue ahead of the 2024 season, is widely viewed as a likely second-round pick. Some analysts place him slightly later, while a few suggest he could be a late first-round possibility depending on team needs.

The Bryan, Texas, native did not perform drills at the NFL scouting combine but participated in field work. He also performed during Texas A&M's pro day, reportedly having lost over 20 pounds since the season concluded.

Standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 285 pounds, Scourton has been noted for his combination of size and movement. Measurables from his pro day include 33-inch arm length and 10-inch hands.

During the 2023 season at Purdue, Scourton recorded 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss. In his lone season with the Aggies, he posted 5 sacks and 14 tackles for loss over 12 games, part of 37 total tackles. He also forced a fumble and defended two passes in 2024.

Several NFL teams have been linked to Nic Scourton during the pre-draft process. The New England Patriots reportedly showed interest, bringing him in for a visit and interviewing him at the combine.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also hosted Scourton for a visit and hold pick No. 53 overall in the second round. Cleveland holds the first pick of the second round and could consider him.

Reports indicate the Eagles and Texans have also taken a look at Nic Scourton, although Dallas is reportedly not interested due to concerns about his frame. Mock drafts place him across the second and third rounds, with some projections as high as pick No. 33 overall according to Tankathon and others like Jordan Reid of ESPN projecting him later in the second round.

Analyst rankings vary on Nic Scourton's placement among edge rushers and defensive ends. Some place him as high as the fifth edge defender available, while others have him lower within the top 10 or 11 at the position. His overall rankings generally place him within the top 50 to top 60 prospects available.
