Several Auburn players were chosen Saturday during the final rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The event concluded with selections spanning the fourth through seventh rounds.
Running back Jarquez Hunter was the first Tiger off the board. The Los Angeles Rams selected him with the 117th overall pick, the 15th selection in the fourth round.
Hunter's college production, including a career-best 1,201 rush yards in 2024, contributed to his draft status. He finished his career as Auburn’s fourth all-time rusher.
Wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith also found a home in Los Angeles. The Chargers drafted him with the 158th pick overall, the 22nd selection of the fifth round.
Lambert-Smith transferred to Auburn for his final season and led the team with 50 catches for 981 yards and eight touchdowns. His yardage total approached a single-season program record.
Their selections marked the first time Auburn players were chosen in this year's draft. Through the first three rounds, no Tigers had been picked. This extended a streak of two consecutive years without an Auburn selection in the initial three rounds, a first since the draft adopted its current format in 1994.
Other Auburn prospects, including linebacker Eugene Asante and linebacker Jalen McLeod, were listed among players who could hear their names called on Saturday. Tight end Rivaldo Fairweather was also mentioned as a potential late-round selection.
The Southeastern Conference led all conferences with selections through the first three rounds and added to that total during Day 3.
Former Alabama high school and college players were also represented on Day 3. This group included Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond and Alabama tight end CJ Dippre. Jacksonville State guard Clay Webb and Alabama A&M offensive tackle Carson Vinson were also among those picked. 2025 NFL Draft produces Alabama A&M’s first pick since 2011
Hunter expressed his anticipation for the moment.
"I'd like to go as high as I can," Hunter said.
