Mercedes-AMG has introduced a limited-edition GT63 coupe inspired by a fictional racing team in the upcoming F1 Movie. The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT63 APXGP Edition references the team driven by Brad Pitt's character in the film.

The special model features a matte black exterior paint with gold accents, including a checkered flag graphic on the front fenders and gold trim around the grille and rear diffuser. The look mirrors the livery of the fictional APXGP team cars appearing in the movie.

Only 52 units of the APXGP Edition will be built worldwide. The exclusivity is noted by a numbered plaque on the center console. Pricing for the limited run model was not announced, but it is expected to exceed the standard GT63's base price.

Mercedes played a role in the production of the F1 movie. The automaker supplied vehicles for on-screen appearances, including Safety and Medical Cars, and AMG SL, GT, and G-Class models. Mercedes also assisted in crafting the movie's race cars, which are modified Formula 2 chassis with custom bodywork.

The interior continues the theme with black nappa leather and microfiber seats featuring gold stitching. Carbon-fiber trim with gold-colored threads is used throughout the cabin on the dashboard, door panels, and center armrest. Gold illumination highlights the door sills.

Standard equipment on the APXGP Edition includes features like a 15-speaker Burmester surround sound system and the AMG Track Pace data system. The model is also fitted with the AMG Carbon Fiber package and AMG Aerodynamics package, adding elements like a front splitter, side sills, and a fixed rear wing.

Under the hood, the AMG GT 63 Coupe APXGP Edition retains the standard model's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine. This powerplant delivers 577 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, paired with all-wheel drive.

The movie follows a former driver who returns to Formula 1 to race alongside a young talent. Brad Pitt stars in the F1 film alongside Damson Idris, with appearances from Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon. Filming occurred during actual Grand Prix weekends to enhance realism.

The APXGP team is fictional but serves as a central element in the film's narrative. The movie is directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for "Top Gun: Maverick."

The F1 Movie is scheduled to debut in North American theaters on June 27. The Mercedes-AMG GT63 APXGP Edition was revealed ahead of the Miami Grand Prix weekend.
