Duke Lesnar, son of combat sports figure Brock Lesnar and former professional wrestling personality Sable, was selected Thursday in the Western Hockey League draft, marking a step in his developing athletic career.
The Medicine Hat Tigers picked the 14-year-old forward 115th overall during the annual draft for the major junior circuit.
Duke Lesnar spent the recent hockey season with the Notre Dame Hounds program. In 30 games played, he recorded 13 goals and 15 assists for a total of 28 points.
The Western Hockey League is a prominent junior league that operates throughout Western Canada and the northwestern United States. Lesnar is scheduled to attend development and rookie camps with the Tigers later this summer.
His selection continues a focus on hockey within the family. Duke Lesnar's brothers also play the sport; Alexander Lesnar competes at the ACHA II level for Saint John’s University, and Turk Lesnar was his teammate with the Notre Dame Hounds during the past season.
Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar has largely remained out of the public view over the past year. His absence follows his implication in a lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE.
Brock Lesnar's last appearance in professional wrestling occurred at SummerSlam in August 2023. He competed against Cody Rhodes at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
His future status with the wrestling company is currently unknown. Reports regarding the company continue to circulate, including those on financial performance, such as recent WWE Q1 Financial Report.
The focus for the younger Lesnar now shifts to preparing for his potential transition to major junior hockey as he looks to advance his path in the sport.
