Serah Williams, a 6-foot-4 forward, has entered the transfer portal after three seasons at Wisconsin. The former Badger visited the UConn campus Tuesday as she considers her future college destination.
During her junior season at Wisconsin, Williams averaged 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 2.3 blocked shots per game. She was named to the All-Big Ten First Team and the All-Big Ten Defensive Team for the second consecutive season.
As a sophomore, Williams posted a double-double average with 17.4 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. She was the media's selection as Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year that season. In her freshman year, she averaged 12.7 points and 5.4 rebounds.
Williams announced her decision to transfer three days after Wisconsin head coach Marisa Moseley resigned March 9. Moseley had previously spent nine years as an assistant coach at UConn.
Following her visit, Williams commits to UConn, according to reports referencing her decision. She brings one year of eligibility to the Huskies program.
The UConn women's basketball team had two scholarships available for transfers after signing three high school recruits and guard Qadence Samuels entering the portal. Williams adds depth to the Huskies' frontcourt alongside returning players Jana El Alfy and Ice Brady.
Prior to her visit to Storrs, Williams made an official visit to LSU. Reports also indicated North Carolina was among the schools she considered.
UConn also hosted Kayleigh Heckel, a guard from USC, on an official visit Tuesday. Heckel averaged 6.1 points in her freshman season.
