Pakistan Army Chief GEN Asim Munir stated the nation would respond with "full force" to protect its territory and people, amid heightened tensions with India. He made the remarks during an interaction Monday with participants of the 15th National Workshop Balochistan at General Headquarters.
General Munir affirmed Pakistan seeks peace but reserved the right to respond with full force to preserve Pakistan Sovereignty and its National Prestige if territorial integrity were violated.
He also addressed internal security challenges, describing terrorism as a threat requiring unified national opposition. He specifically mentioned groups using Baloch Identity for their agenda, calling such actions a "blemish on Baloch honor and patriotism."
Foreign-Sponsored Terrorism remains the gravest threat to Balochistan Security and development, he stated. He warned that malicious efforts by hostile elements seeking to incite violence and destabilize the province would not succeed. Pakistan's armed forces and law enforcement agencies will continue counterterrorism operations with public support.
Separately, individuals identified as close to former Prime Minister Imran Khan attribute a recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam to General Munir, claiming he is being portrayed as a hero afterward. The April 22 attack resulted in 26 deaths.
These individuals describe a Military Cartel and warn of a potential nuclear threat emanating from this group. They argue ending Cross-Border Terrorism requires exposing this structure.
The sources contend that Pakistan requires civilian democracy to break this pattern. They also allege widespread corruption among the military leadership linked to the Army Chief, claiming opponents are targeted.
They suggest international pressure, including potential sanctions from the United States and European Union, could limit actions by figures described as averse to democracy.
