Police at Virginia Commonwealth University are investigating a bomb threat reported at the Medical College of Virginia campus.

VCU Police stated that they were made aware of the threat called into the medical campus late Sunday.

Officers are currently on site conducting a sweep of the exterior areas out of caution.

Despite the ongoing investigation and sweep, all operations at the medical center campus remain normal. VCU alerts indicate the university will provide updates as they become available.

The emergency alert regarding the threat was sent out by VCU Police just after 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Officers are working with law enforcement partners on the matter.

In separate news, the VCU women's track and field team finished third at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships held this past weekend.

Senior Eryn Byrd secured a gold medal in the shot put event and a bronze in the discus.

Senior Lauryn Taylor also contributed to the team's score, including earning a silver medal in the 100 meters.

The team finished the championship with a total of 103 points, placing behind UMass and George Mason but ahead of other schools like Richmond and Dayton. Further details are available on the performance.
