A juvenile pedestrian was injured Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle near Arbor View High School in the northwest valley.
The incident occurred around 11:25 a.m. in the 7500 block of Whispering Sands Drive.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the scene.
The juvenile was transported to UMC. Authorities described the injuries sustained as serious.
The vehicle involved remained at the location of the crash.
The collision took place in the area where Arbor View High School is situated. Police have not confirmed whether the injured juvenile is a student at the school.
Students at Arbor View reportedly stated that a Grad Walk event scheduled for Friday was canceled following the crash.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
