BOSTON — One person died Monday night in the Allston neighborhood of Boston, police said, leading to a chase and the arrest of a suspect. Officers responded to a disturbance call just before 8 p.m. on Glenville Avenue where they found a deceased female victim inside an apartment.
Upon arrival, police said a male suspect was inside the building but broke a window to leave. He then fled on foot from officers through nearby yards.
Police pursued the man through the area. At one point during the chase, police deployed a stun gun.
The pursuit ended a few blocks away on Quint Avenue. Police said the man attempted to steal a car before officers took him into custody.
Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin of the Boston Police Department confirmed the arrest and the recovery of at least one weapon during the incident. The names of the victim and the suspect have not been publicly released.
Investigators initially described the incident as "likely a domestic" case, but later stated the nature of the incident remains under investigation.
Neighbors on Glenville Avenue reported seeing a shirtless man running from the building where the incident occurred. One neighbor also recalled seeing items thrown from an upstairs window the previous night, thinking it was a couple arguing.
Boston police continue to process the scene as the investigation into what transpired inside the apartment unfolds.
Officials have yet to provide details on how the woman died or if there was a prior connection between the victim and the man arrested.
