Production has begun in the United Kingdom for the second season of "The Gentlemen," the crime series inspired by Guy Ritchie's film. The show, a hit for Netflix, features eight new episodes.
Theo James returns in the lead role as Eddie Horniman, the Duke of Halstead. Also reprising her role is Kaya Scodelario as Susie Glass. Daniel Ings is confirmed to return as well.
The start of filming comes months after the series was officially renewed in August 2024. The first season premiered in March 2024, leading to a delay between the renewal announcement and the start of production.
This timing suggests audiences will likely wait until 2026 for the new episodes. Considering the first season aired over a year ago, the gap between seasons is expected to be over two years by the time the new episodes are released.
Guy Ritchie is involved in the second season, directing and co-writing scripts with Matthew Read. The show explores the intersection of aristocratic life and the criminal world.
The series expanded on the universe introduced in Ritchie's 2019 movie of the same name.
Producers include Ritchie, Will Gould, Matthew Read, and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures, Marc Helwig for Miramax Television, and Ivan Atkinson. Moonage Pictures produces for Netflix and Miramax Television.
Theo James has stated that the upcoming season will push the narrative further.
"I really wanted to — and so did creator Guy Ritchie — make sure that we evolve the show," James said. "As fun as the first season was, if you do the exact same thing again, it may not be as fun, essentially."
