Rapper and designer Ye stated recently that artist Playboi Carti visited him at a hotel while carrying a firearm. The claim was made during a livestream appearance.

Speaking during a Twitch stream, Ye recounted a conversation he says he had with Carti. "This n-gga told me he was at the Chateau with a gun, n-gga," Ye said during the stream. He appeared to be referencing the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood, California.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, offered limited details about when the alleged incident occurred or its context before his stream ended abruptly. Twitch reportedly banned Ye shortly after he began streaming.

The statement highlights escalating tensions between the two artists, who have recently engaged in a public dispute. The conflict intensified following the release of Carti's album MUSIC.

Ye expressed dissatisfaction that Carti included features from Kendrick Lamar on the album but did not include their collaborative tracks. He wrote publicly that he did not like Kendrick Lamar's music and did not want to hear him on Carti's album.

Additional friction arose regarding potential collaboration involving Ye's daughter, North West. Ye indicated Kim Kardashian did not approve a song with North featuring himself and others, but appeared to allow Carti to work with her.

Their disagreements escalated to the point where Playboi Carti publicly responded to Ye, telling his former collaborator to "STFU."

Despite the recent conflict, the artists have a history of collaboration. Playboi Carti appeared on Ye's 2021 album Donda on the song "Off The Grid." More recently, the two collaborated on the song "Carnival" from Ye and Ty Dolla $ign's album Vultures 1, which also featured Ty Dolla $ign and Rich The Kid.

Carti has not publicly responded to Ye's most recent claim about the hotel visit.
