Geoffrey Stirling, brother of television personality Lydia McLaughlin, was laid to rest on May 5, more than two weeks after his death at age 45. The burial service took place just six months after the passing of their mother.

McLaughlin, 44, shared images and videos from the private burial service on Monday, May 5. Family and close friends attended the ceremony where doves were released into the sky, and guests appeared to wear white attire.

According to the Newport Beach Police Department, officers stopped a motorcyclist identified as Geoffrey Stirling on April 17. Authorities reported Stirling became uncooperative and assaulted an officer. During the altercation, Stirling allegedly removed the officer’s taser and attempted to use it, leading to an officer-involved shooting.

McLaughlin first addressed her brother's death on April 19, describing it as an unimaginable loss.
