Jenna Ortega returned to the Metropolitan Museum of Art steps, attending the MET GALA 2025 on Monday. The actor wore a silver metallic gown fitting the event's theme and dress code.
The strapless Balmain dress, designed by Olivier Rousteing, appeared crafted from numbered measuring tape. Ortega accessorized with silver jewelry, sunglasses, and black sheer gloves.
The dress aligned with the year’s dress code, "Tailored for You." This theme derived from the Costume Institute's exhibition, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." The exhibition drew inspiration from Monica L. Miller's 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. Andrew Bolton, the head curator, noted the show marks a step in diversifying exhibitions and addressing historical biases in curatorial practice.
Ortega did not attend the 2024 Met Gala due to filming the second season of Netflix’s Wednesday. She made her first appearance at the event in 2023, wearing a dark look by Thom Browne that featured a corset bodice and asymmetrical skirt.
Speaking about the upcoming Wednesday season, Ortega previously discussed her goal for the character to be "darker." She stated the character's drive with the monster is competitive, wanting the story to continue down an antihero path.
Ortega also spoke about working with Lady Gaga on the new season, detailing changes made to the set for Gaga's arrival.
“She is so sweet, so humble, just a normal person, and it’s beautiful and amazing and it’s intimidating when someone is so talented but cool at the same time,” Ortega told Stephen Colbert.
