Madison Square Garden is set to host a mix of entertainment and sports events later in 2025, with plans for both comedy performances and a college basketball game reported for the arena.

Comedian Nate Bargatze recently extended an on-air invitation to television host Jimmy Fallon to join him for upcoming tour dates at the venue in September. Bargatze asked Fallon during an appearance on The Tonight Show.

Fallon agreed to the request, despite expressing reservations about his stand-up readiness. Bargatze is scheduled for three performances at Madison Square Garden on September 26 and 27 as part of his current tour.

This invitation follows previous instances where Fallon joined Bargatze for stand-up sets in upstate New York cities like Syracuse and Albany. Bargatze noted Fallon’s past experience performing alongside him.

Separately, a report indicates college basketball will return to Madison Square Garden in December.

According to a report, BYU is slated to play Clemson in the Jimmy V Classic.

The event is expected to take place on Tuesday, December 9, and reportedly includes a second game featuring UConn against Florida. The report regarding the Jimmy V Classic matchup has not yet been officially confirmed by the involved programs.

The reported contest would mark BYU’s first game at Madison Square Garden since appearing in the NIT Semifinals in 2016. Clemson leads the all-time series against BYU, with their previous meetings occurring in the NCAA Tournament.

The Jimmy V Classic is an annual college basketball event raising funds for cancer research.
