Whataburger is recognizing educators this week, offering free breakfast items and awarding classroom grants during Teacher Appreciation Week, which runs from May 5 through May 9, 2025. The initiatives aim to show gratitude for teachers across the burger chain's operating area.

During the week, educators can visit participating Whataburger locations between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. to receive a free breakfast entrée. Teachers need to show valid school identification to claim the offer. This includes options like the Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, Breakfast on a Bun, and Taquito with Cheese. The offer is available for dine-in, drive-thru, and takeout orders, but not online. Freebies for teachers are common during this time.

In addition to the meal offer, Whataburger is awarding $75,000 in classroom grants. Seventy-five teachers across the company's 16-state footprint will each receive a $1,000 grant.

The grants are part of the company's 75th anniversary celebration and recognize teachers who make a positive impact in their classrooms and communities. Named the WhataTeacher grants, they are part of the company's Feeding Student Success program, which supports education and addresses hunger. More details on the grants are available through the company.

Since 2022, Whataburger has donated more than $160,000 in grants through this program.

A spokesperson for the restaurant chain commented on the effort.

"Whataburger is serving up a Whatasized ‘thank you’ to the real MVPs of our communities — our amazing teachers," the spokesperson said.
