Red Robin Gourmet Burgers launched a limited-time offer for customers seeking a month of daily burgers. The Bottomless Burger Pass, priced at $20, promised pass holders one burger and bottomless side of fries each day during May, National Burger Month.
The special pass went on sale April 17. Reports indicate high demand quickly overwhelmed the burger chain's online platform. Potential buyers encountered website errors attempting to secure one of the limited passes.
A Red Robin representative confirmed the site experienced issues due to customer excitement for the promotion. The representative stated they worked with website partners to handle traffic, but the influx proved higher than anticipated.
Despite efforts, the special Red Robin $20 Burger Pass Promotion sold out rapidly. The passes were available for purchase directly through the company's National Burger Month promotion page.
Customers purchasing the pass were set to receive a physical card in the mail. The card would grant access to the daily burger and side from May 1 through May 31. The company noted potential additional charges for burger substitutions, additions, or premium sides.
While the $20 cost allowed daily use, Red Robin estimated the potential value of the pass could reach up to $682 if used every day. This projected value highlighted the significant discount offered by the promotion.
For those unable to acquire the pass, Red Robin outlined alternative promotions. Red Robin Royalty loyalty program members can enter a drawing to win free burgers for a year.
To enter the loyalty program drawing, members must purchase a burger and a beverage while logged into their account during May. New members joining in May also receive automatic entry. The company plans to select 12 winners at random from participating customers.
