Rockstar Games provided new details about upcoming characters in Grand Theft Auto VI this week, following the release of a new trailer. The game is set for release in 2026.
Information surfaced regarding the protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. The game's story hints at a narrative style similar to the classic criminal duo Bonnie and Clyde. game's two main characters are central to the plot.
Jason is described as seeking an easy life, often elusive due to his upbringing among criminals. He served in the army, seemingly to escape his past, but later found himself working for drug runners in the Keys area. He is prepared to change his life, with his relationship with Lucia posing a turning point.
Lucia's background is that of a fighter, having been trained from a young age by her father. This training proved useful as she navigated life's challenges, leading to incarceration in Leonida Penitentiary. After gaining freedom, she aims for more sophisticated criminal activities than before. Her ambition is to achieve the prosperous life her mother envisioned since their time in Liberty City.
Several other characters were identified. Brian Heder, an older individual, appears to employ Jason. Brian and his wife Lori manage the drug running operation. Cal Hampton is noted as a friend of Jason's who also works for Brian.
Additional characters mentioned include Boobie Ike, a successful entrepreneur in Vice City with roots in crime, and Dre'quan Priest, a musician described as more of a hustler. High school friends Bae-Luxe and Roxy, known together as Real Dimez, are heavily involved in social media. Raul Bautista is characterized as a charming and skilled bank robber.
The upcoming title is confirmed for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. website still lists release date for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S with no mention of PC. A PC release is not currently listed.
Rockstar Games previously announced the game targets a 2025 release window, but recent information points to a specific launch date of May 26, 2026. Rockstar details 9 of Grand Theft Auto VI's presumably many, many characters. The game will feature many more characters beyond those recently detailed.
