Details regarding the next major expansions for the video game Destiny 2 have appeared online ahead of an official reveal event scheduled for Tuesday, May 6. Leaks from retail listings confirm the titles Edge of Fate and Renegades, outlining the next chapter in the game's ongoing narrative.

The leaks, stemming primarily from a listing for a Collector’s Edition on the Bungie Store and advertisements on the PlayStation Store, indicate that Edge of Fate, the first of the two expansions, is slated for release on July 15, 2025. This aligns with delivery dates mentioned for the physical Collector’s Edition items.

Edge of Fate is expected to introduce a new location named Kepler. Descriptions accompanying the leaks describe Kepler as a planetoid situated near the edge of the Sol system, featuring a desert environment.

The second expansion revealed through these leaks is titled Renegades. While its existence as part of the upcoming content cycle is confirmed, information regarding its release date remains unconfirmed at this time.

Both expansions are part of the content block referred to as the Year of Prophecy. The Collector's Edition listing priced the bundle at $275 USD with the game included or $175 USD for the physical items only. This pricing suggests the digital bundle containing the expansions may cost around $100, similar to past major releases.

Visuals reportedly from a PlayStation Store advertisement displayed new Guardian visuals and hinted at potential new weapon types. Images depicted characters wielding weapons that appear different from current in-game armaments, including one resembling an energy sword and another similar to a blaster.

These leaks precede the formal announcement from developer Bungie scheduled for May 6 at 9 AM PT. The reveal is expected to provide official details, gameplay footage, and further context for the upcoming content.

The release timeline places Edge of Fate approximately one year after the game's previous expansion, The Final Shape, which launched in June 2024. This schedule falls ahead of Bungie's anticipated September 23 launch for their separate title, Marathon.
