The draw for the Internazionali BNL d’Italia is set, marking the return of Jannik Sinner to competition at his home tournament in Rome. Sinner will play his first match since completing a three-month period of ineligibility related to a doping case resolution agreement with WADA.

The top-ranked player will open his Italian Open campaign against the winner of the match between Mariano Navone or #NextGenATP wild card Federico Cina. This will be Sinner's second tournament of the year, having previously won the Australian Open in January.

Sinner is seeded in the opposite half of the draw from Carlos Alcaraz, setting up a potential championship match meeting between the two players. Sinner could face a potential quarter-final clash with Alexander Bublik.

Alcaraz returns to action in Rome after withdrawing from the Masters 1000 event in Madrid. He sustained an adductor injury during his run to the final in Barcelona. Alcaraz is set to begin against Jan-Lennard Struff or Yoshihito Nishioka and is seeded to meet Jack Draper, the World No. 5, in the quarter-finals.

Defending champion Alexander Zverev is the second seed at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. His opening opponent will be a qualifier or Camilo Ugo Carabelli. Zverev looks to rebound after his seven-match win streak ended in Madrid.

Zverev is seeded to meet Alcaraz in the semi-finals. Players in Zverev's quarter include Lorenzo Musetti, Daniil Medvedev, Arthur Fils, and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Daniil Medvedev, the 2023 Rome champion, starts his tournament against a qualifier or Christopher O’Connell. He could face Musetti in the fourth round..The tournament draw ceremony in Rome took place Monday. Novak Djokovic also withdrew from the event prior to the start of play..Reflecting on the period away, Sinner noted the stress. “I miss the competition,” Sinner's doping case quote. “I’m very happy that this period is done and I’m ready to play again.”
