Oklahoma City defeated Denver Wednesday night, trouncing the Nuggets 149-106 to even their playoff series at one game each. The victory followed the Nuggets' narrow win in Game 1.
The Thunder trounce Nuggets performance in Game 2 presented a clear contrast to their series-opening loss. OKC quickly took control, building a large lead by halftime and sustaining their offensive pressure throughout the game.
OKC's offense operated efficiently, shooting 56.2 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc. The team recorded 31 assists and committed only nine turnovers.
Eight players scored in double digits for the Thunder, including all five starters. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led Oklahoma City's scoring effort with 34 points.
Other notable contributors for OKC included Lu Dort, whose early 3-pointer gave the Thunder a lead they did not relinquish. The All Players list for Oklahoma City featured Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, and Jaylin Williams.
The Denver Nuggets struggled to match Oklahoma City's intensity and execution. Nikola Jokić scored 17 points for Denver, while Russell Westbrook added 19 points and Jamal Murray finished with 14.
Denver also committed 21 turnovers, allowing the Thunder to capitalize with transition opportunities. The Nuggets failed to find an answer for OKC's consistent scoring and struggled to secure rebounds.
With the series now tied 1-1, it shifts to Denver for Game 3 on Friday.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander commented on his team's approach after the game.
"We came out here desperate," Gilgeous-Alexander said.
