The New York Giants selected Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo with the 105th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The selection occurred on April 26, 2025.
Cam Skattebo joins the Giants running back room, which includes Tyrone Tracy and Devin Singletary. The team sought help at the position early on the third day of the draft.
Skattebo measured 5 feet, 9 1/2 inches tall and weighed 219 pounds at the NFL Combine. His other measurables included 29 7/8-inch arms, 9 3/8-inch hands, a 39 1/2-inch vertical jump, and 17 bench press repetitions. His 40-yard dash time was 4.65 seconds.
A native of Rio Linda, California, Skattebo played college football for the Arizona State Sun Devils. His production for three years drew attention.
The running back is known for his physical playing style. He displays great balance and finishes plays consistently. Scouts noted his ability to break tackles and run through defenders.
Skattebo's college statistics include 1,711 rushing yards at 6.8 yards per carry and 605 receiving yards at 13.8 yards per reception last year. He accumulated 2,316 yards from scrimmage with 24 total touchdowns.
The selection of Cam Skattebo Draft Pick is the highest the Giants have taken a running back since the 2018 NFL Draft.
Some observers compare Skattebo's playing style and potential role to David Montgomery of the Detroit Lions, envisioning a potential pairing with Tracy similar to the Lions' use of Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs.
Despite considerable college production, Skattebo did not receive scholarship offers from FBS schools out of high school. He played junior college football before joining Arizona State.
“It kind of shows more of the path of how people have doubted me a little bit,” Skattebo said. “And now that the Giants believe in me, I’m gonna believe in what they have and what we have as a team, and we’re gonna go try to win a championship.”
