New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr confirmed over the weekend he is dealing with a shoulder injury. Carr addressed the matter publicly for the first time since reports of a potential issue surfaced earlier this month.

Carr spoke about the injury Sunday during a guest sermon at Church LV in Las Vegas. News of a potential injury became public April 11, three days before the Saints began the initial phase of their voluntary offseason workout program.

The quarterback stated he has been in communication with the Saints organization regarding the issue. He pushed back against rumors suggesting the injury was not real or was being mishandled.

Carr confirmed he possesses medical documentation supporting his account. "I have an MRI report to prove it," Carr said Sunday.

He added that the team is fully aware of the situation and is working with him. "The team knows about it. We've been in constant communication. There's nothing wrong. We're figuring it out, and we're going to go forward with that," Carr stated.

Carr also criticized speculation surrounding his health that appeared on various media platforms and social media.
