Paul Pierce, the former Boston Celtics star, began a lengthy walk toward the FS1 studio Thursday after losing a bet on the outcome of the Celtics' playoff game against the New York Knicks.

Pierce made a bold proclamation on air earlier in the week. He stated that if the Celtics lost Game 2 at home, he would walk to the studio the next day. His initial prediction cited the distance as 15 miles.

The Boston Celtics hosted the New York Knicks for Game 2 of their playoff series Wednesday. The Celtics held a large lead but ultimately lost the game.

Following the loss, Paul Pierce posted information indicating the walk from his location to the studio was actually 20 miles.

He began documenting the start of the walk Thursday morning. Images shared showed him wearing a robe, as he had specified in his bet.

The walk was estimated to take around eight hours to complete.

With their loss Wednesday, the Celtics fell behind 0-2 in the series with the Knicks. Pierce's bet stemmed from his hot take on the game's likely result.

The terms of the wager included walking barefoot, though it was not confirmed whether Pierce adhered to this detail throughout the journey.
