Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton addressed being voted the most overrated player in the NBA by his peers following a playoff victory Tuesday. The Athletic conducted an anonymous poll asking various questions of NBA players, including their pick for the league's most overrated talent.

Haliburton received the most votes, earning over 14 percent of the player ballot. Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert finished second with 10 percent of the vote.

Following the Pacers' win over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 of the first round, a game in which Haliburton played a key role, he responded to the poll on social media platform X.

Miami Heat icon Dwyane Wade criticized the player vote results. Speaking on his podcast, Wade stated the poll reflects an issue within the game, suggesting players focus too much on scoring output rather than overall impact and leadership.

Wade, a 13-time All-Star, argued that Haliburton's value to the Pacers, leading the team's offense and dictating tempo, should be recognized even if he is not primarily a high-volume scorer. He compared Haliburton's style to that of guard Chris Paul, highlighting his ability to map the floor and create for others.

Pacers coach Rick Carlisle also strongly dismissed the poll. He called it a flawed and shameful exercise, noting that players were not required to participate. Carlisle questioned the judgment of players who voted for Haliburton or others like Giannis Antetokounmpo or Jimmy Butler.

Haliburton dismissed the poll results, stating he remains confident in his ability and is not concerned with external opinions. He pointed to the trust placed in him by his teammates, coaching staff, and front office.

His performance often counters the "overrated" label. He finished Game 5 with 26 points, nine assists, five rebounds, three steals, and three blocks. In the playoffs, he averages 17.6 points, 11.6 assists, and 6.4 rebounds.

"I'm good," Haliburton said regarding the poll. "I could care less."
