The Detroit Tigers game today against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field was postponed due to inclement weather. The contest, originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, will now be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader on Thursday.
The series opener was set to begin at 8:40 p.m. ET in Denver. Rain and other weather conditions forced the decision to delay the start of the series.
The doubleheader is scheduled to begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the regularly scheduled game on Thursday, which is set for 3:10 p.m. ET.
The starting pitchers originally slated for Tuesday’s game, right-hander Jackson Jobe for Detroit and right-hander Chase Dollander for Colorado, are now expected to pitch on Wednesday. Jobe enters with a 2-0 record and a 3.38 ERA, while Dollander holds a 2-3 record with a 6.48 ERA.
Probable starters for the Thursday doubleheader include right-hander Casey Mize for the Tigers in the first game, facing left-hander Kyle Freeland. The starters for the second game have not yet been announced.
Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal, who had been in line to pitch on Thursday, will have his next start pushed back to the team’s upcoming homestand when they return to Detroit.
Tickets for the original May 8 game are valid for both games of Thursday’s doubleheader. Ticketholders will occupy the same designated seat location for either contest and are not required to leave the ballpark between games.
Fans holding tickets for Tuesday’s postponed game that were purchased directly from the Rockies will receive credit or a refund. These customers will be contacted via email with further details. Those who purchased tickets through secondary markets should contact their point of purchase.
Parking lots at Coors Field are scheduled to open at 10:30 a.m. ahead of Thursday’s doubleheader. Gates are set to open between 11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
