Mililani defeated Kamehameha 4-0 in a quarterfinal game of the Datahouse/HHSAA state softball championship Wednesday, replicating the result of the previous year's final. The defending champion Trojans advanced in the single-elimination bracket.

The game, played at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium, saw Mililani's sophomore pitcher Hinano Bautista deliver a four-hitter. Bautista pitched to contact, recording no strikeouts and walking one batter.

Mililani scored four runs to secure the victory. Offensive contributions included Makanalei Watkins-Villegas, who went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs batted in. Emma Parker and Aubri Nakashima also drove in runs for the Trojans.

Fans followed updates on Scoringlive throughout the tournament, which is drawing teams from across the state. Mililani, the OIA champion, will now face Punahou, the ILH runner-up, in the semifinal round. Punahou advanced by routing Hilo 10-0.

The win marked a rematch of the previous year's championship final, which Mililani also won. Kamehameha, the ILH's third-place team, had won two earlier tournament games to reach the quarterfinal.

In other quarterfinals, Maryknoll defeated Kaiser 11-1, and Campbell edged Baldwin 12-10. Maryknoll and Campbell are set to meet in the other Division I semifinal.

Mililani seeks its fifth state title, while Punahou, Maryknoll, and Campbell are pursuing their second, second, and sixth titles respectively.

The Division II semifinals are also underway at the same venue, with Pearl City facing Waimea and Kapaa playing Pac-Five.

Players on both sides made defensive plays during the contest. Kamehameha outfielders Jade Kiyan and Addison Wong, along with first baseman Anela Pau, were noted for grabs. Mililani second baseman Kamryn Aoki also made a defensive play on a line drive.
