The San Francisco 49ers announced Friday they have signed TE Ross Dwelley to a one-year deal, bringing the tight end back to the team.
Dwelley, 30, spent the 2024 season with the Atlanta Falcons after playing his first six NFL seasons with the 49ers.
He appeared in every game for the Falcons last season, primarily seeing time on special teams. He recorded one reception for five yards on 105 offensive snaps.
After spending one year in Atlanta with the Falcons, Ross Dwelley now returns to the team that signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2018.
Over his seven-year career with the 49ers and Falcons, Dwelley has played in 101 games with 17 starts. He has 45 receptions for 523 yards and five touchdowns. He has also appeared in seven postseason contests.
Dwelley attended the University of San Diego, where he played 47 games and had 197 catches for 2,305 yards and 26 touchdowns.
In his initial time with San Francisco, Ross Dwelley recorded 44 catches for 518 yards and five touchdowns.
He joins a tight end group that includes George Kittle, Luke Farrell, Brayden Willis, Jake Tonges, and Mason Pline.
