The Boston Red Sox defeated the Texas Rangers 6-4 Wednesday night at Fenway Park. Alex Bregman hit his 200th career home run and Wilyer Abreu added two home runs to lead the Red Sox offense in the win, providing offense after the team scored only one run through the first two games of the series.

Bregman's milestone came on a solo blast in the fourth inning off Rangers starter Tyler Mahle. He later drove in the winning runs with an RBI single in the seventh, falling a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.

Abreu also contributed significantly, hitting two solo home runs – a game-tying shot in the fourth and another in the eighth inning. He also recorded a game-tying double in the sixth inning.

The Texas Rangers scored four runs but were unable to capitalize on opportunities with runners on base, going 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position and leaving nine men stranded.

An injury concern arose for the Red Sox when first baseman Romy Gonzalez tripped over the foot of Rangers first baseman Josh Smith during a play at first base in the sixth inning. Both players were checked by trainers before walking off, but Gonzalez was later replaced by Abraham Toro in the seventh inning.

In American League action elsewhere, the Seattle Mariners secured their ninth straight series win with a 6-5 comeback victory over the Athletics, extending their lead atop the AL West division.

Current MLB Standings show teams competing for position across the leagues. This includes clubs vying for playoff spots in various divisions, such as those in the NL East Standings.

The Rangers and Red Sox will conclude their series with a rubber match Thursday afternoon at Fenway Park. Jack Leiter is scheduled to pitch for Texas, facing Brayan Bello for Boston.
