Joey Logano statistics secured his first NASCAR Cup Series victory of 2025 on Sunday, surviving a chaotic overtime finish at Texas Motor Speedway. Logano's 37th career Cup Series win came by a margin of 0.346 seconds at the Würth 400 presented by Liqui Moly.

The reigning CUP Series champion led only seven of the 271 laps in the Team Penske Ford. He took the lead late with a pass on Michael McDowell on the backstretch of the 1.5-mile oval.

Logano started deep in the field from 27th position. The win marked his first top-five finish and only his second top-10 result in the first 11 races of the season.

The race saw 12 caution periods, reducing the number of competitive cars and extending the event four laps beyond its scheduled distance. Ross Chastain finished second in the Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet, with Ryan Blaney placing third in another Penske entry. Kyle Larson finished fourth, and Erik Jones completed the top five finishers according to the final order. For more race highlights, see online reports.

Several incidents affected the field. Denny Hamlin's car ignited with six laps remaining in the first stage, ending his day early. Hamlin finished last in the 38-car field.

Josh Berry spun out while leading on lap 125, hitting the wall. Berry had led 41 laps before the incident and finished 32nd. A restart pileup on lap 172 involved multiple cars, including Bubba Wallace, Noah Gragson, Alex Bowman, AJ Allmendinger, and Chad Finchum.

The NASCAR CUP Series moves next to Kansas Speedway for the AdventHealth 400 on Sunday, May 11.

Crew chief Paul Wolfe commented on the team's performance.

"It's been a bit of a struggle this year to get the results that I feel like we've shown the speed, but we haven't put it all together, and it was nice to just have a nice, solid day and be able to find victory lane," Wolfe said.
