Voters in San Angelo cast ballots Saturday in races for mayor, City Council seats, and two bond propositions. Unofficial results from early and election day voting show leading candidates and trends for the measures.
Five candidates competed for the mayor's office. Thomas "Tom" N. Thompson held a lead with 4,992 votes, representing 51.67% of the counted ballots as of late Saturday night. Trinidad Aguirre, Jr. followed with 2,328 votes, or 24.10%. Gary Jenkins, Joshua Burleson, and Juan Acevedo also sought the position.
