MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. — Authorities confirmed Thursday the death of a Mobile, Alabama man reported missing the previous day in McCracken County. Robert Daryl Dennis, 32, was found deceased after a search initiated Wednesday evening.
The McCracken County Sheriff's Office asked the public for help locating Dennis around 9:45 p.m. Wednesday. He had been last seen on Clarks River Road earlier that afternoon, about 2:30 p.m.
Sheriff Ryan Norman provided an update Thursday morning, stating that Dennis's body had been recovered. Officials located the body in water off Clarks River Road late Wednesday night.
Dennis was in the area working on vessels operated by his employer. He was not an employee of James Marine, Inc., according to a statement from the company.
James Marine Inc. offered thoughts to the Dennis family. The company noted that Dennis was recovered upstream from their Walker Boat Yard facility and off company premises.
The McCracken County Coroner's Office responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation into the death. Foul play is not suspected at this time, officials said.
Details from the McCracken County Sheriff's Office release indicated the body was found around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
