Two people sustained injuries from gunfire Friday evening during an incident at a restaurant in downtown Oakland.

The shooting occurred at Pierre Pierre, a southern cuisine establishment situated on the 400 block of 13th Street, near the Tribune Tower.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the location following multiple calls reporting the shooting.

Police confirmed that two victims were transported to a hospital. They are both reported to be in stable condition.

The scene inside the restaurant showed signs of the disturbance, including turned-over tables and what appeared to be blood on the floor.

A large window at the Pierre Pierre restaurant also displayed damage, described as being riddled with bullet holes.

An investigation is underway by the Oakland Police Department to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Authorities have not yet publicly identified any suspects or determined a motive for the incident.

Cleashaun Hill, the chef and owner of the restaurant, indicated in a social media post and fundraiser that funds raised would support enhanced security measures and potential relocation of the business to a safer area.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding Crime and Public Safety in the area.
