Rapper Lil Uzi Vert was transported to a New York City hospital by ambulance Monday after falling ill. The musician was loaded onto a gurney from a building lobby in Lower Manhattan, sources reported Monday afternoon.

Emergency medical services responded to a call for a sick person around 2:30 p.m. Monday. An eyewitness described seeing the rapper being wheeled out before being placed into the ambulance.

Security personnel held umbrellas to shield the view as the ambulance was loaded. Sources reported the 29-year-old was conscious during the transport to the hospital.

His girlfriend, girlfriend JT of the former City Girls duo, was reportedly present and by his side.

Lil Uzi Vert was taken to the emergency room and remained hospitalized overnight, according to reports.

As of Tuesday morning, he was still receiving medical treatment at the facility, according to accounts from the hospital.

The specific reason for Lil Uzi Vert's hospitalization or his current condition remains unclear. Representatives for the rapper have not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the incident.

The hospitalization follows the release of his latest album, "Eternal Atake 2," approximately six months ago.
